This area contains some of my Aviation Illustrations and Paintings. Most of this work was completed before 1976, when I was with McDonnell/Douglas Aircraft. At age 23, two years after joining Douglas I was promoted to the Advanced Design Engineering Group as assistant to the Chief Configurations Engineer and Nationally acclaimed aircraft painter, R.G. Smith. I was priviledged to work with the very top engineers in the Company. Under Mr. Smith's tutelage, I learned the aviation and landscape painting skills, which still serve me today,

I was soon assigned the task of doing cutaway paintings of all the then current Douglas aircraft for litho reproduction. Eventually this included the DC-9 and the DC-10 which were produced from engineering blueprints before the aircraft were built.
